9/5/2003Toronto forward Nik Antropov will be making the trip to Sweden next week with a new contract under his arm.
Antropov, a restricted free agent, came to terms on a one year deal. Financial terms were not released.
It's the first player signing for newly hired general manager John Ferguson Jr., who took over from Pat Quinn a week ago.
The 23-year-old Antropov had 16 goals and 45 points in 72 games with the Maple Leafs last season. He set career highs in games played, goals, assists, points and penalty minutes while finishing third on the team in plus/minus.
